Fall Color

Kelley and I went for a drive yesterday (November 5,2016) to see if we could find any fall color left.  We drove from Reno, through the Carson Valley, down US395, across into Smith Valley and Wilson Canyon.  Then we went through Yerington and back to Reno.

Here are some of the photographs I took. I hope you like them.

Red Rock Conservation Area

On Christmas Day 2015 while we were in Las Vegas, we decided to go to the Red Rock Conservation Area just west of town.  I had heard about it and seen others photographs of the area and knew it would be a good area to go photograph.  Here are two photographs from that day and I will post others as I finish editing all the photographs that I took that afternoon.

Saint Thomas Aquinas Cathedral (Reno, Nevada), Fifth Teaser Image for Gallery Show

The teaser photograph for today is of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Cathedral (Reno, Nevada).  The artist reception is this coming Thursday, December 5, 2013.

Saint Thomas Aquinas Cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reno, Nevada, United States. It is located at 310 W. 2nd Street in Reno. The cathedral was built in 1908 as the rise in Reno’s Catholic population warranted a larger church. The cathedral was nearly destroyed by a fire in 1909 and was restored the following year. The Cathedral is staffed by Conventual Franciscans: Order of the Friars, Minor. (Wikipedia).

Upcoming Gallery Show of Downtown Reno Nevada Night Photographs

I am working on a series of photographs of the downtown area of Reno, Nevada for a gallery show that will be in late November or early December.  As the details are confirmed, I will post the details here and other places.  So far I have found that the night with the least traffic is Monday night/Tuesday morning.  After I select a photograph to represent the series for the marketing materials, I will post a copy of it at http://gallery.amomentoftimephotos.com, the other images will only be online after the completion of the show.

The process of setting up this show has me thinking about other related shows that I may put together if this one is a success.
